FUNCTIONAL FILMS AND
PAINT FOR MEGAYACHTS

PAINT PROTECTION

PAINT PROTECTION

Immediately after painting, the protective films developed by us are applied to the hulls and superstructures. These films are compatible with the fresh paintwork. They protect against damage (scratches, dirt and micro scratches). The films can be applied and removed both in the water and on land without leaving any residue.

FUNCTIONAL FILMS

FUNCTIONAL FILMS

Certain colours are costly and difficult to paint. The service life is often extremely short. To counteract this problem, we have found a system that extends the service life of rapidly decaying pigments by up to 4 years. In commercial shipping, we have been using this long-term protection very successfully together with shipyards and ship operators.

At first glance, corrosion protection with foil does not seem very promising. In this case, old-fashioned paints would always be preferred for sustainable results. However, there are applications where films make perfect sense because no drying times have to be kept. Moreover, these films can also be applied outdoors and in bad weather and will protect with immediate effect.

WINDOW COATINGS &
UV PROTECTION

WINDOW COATINGS

Many yachts have coated windows, but experience shows that this coating becomes damaged over the years and starts to become unsightly. The replacement of these windows, if at all possible, is expensive and very time-consuming. We have developed films with our Yacht & Art Window-Protect-System, which can be adapted in colour to the owner’s specifications. The film is always laid under the corking, making it insensitive to frequent wash downs. The extra scratch-resistant surface prevents mirco scratches. Some yachts have now been sailing with our Window Protect system for 5 years. Large glass surfaces look like new windows after coating. In addition, the film reduces 99% of the UV light entering the yacht’s interior. Thermal protection/protection against heating of the interior can be reduced by up to 15%, depending on the colour and system.

UV PROTECTION

For handrails and other parts on board that are made of varnished wood, we offer a UV protective film. When applied, it is invisible. Nevertheless, it reliably prevents damage to the lacquer by UV light and thus increases the service life of the lacquered wooden parts by 2-3 years.

Exhaust residues from the machines can simply be wiped off this coating. This significantly reduces the maintenance expenditure.

DESIGN & OPTICS

DESIGN & OPTICS

Films in yachting are mostly used as a visual enhancement. These films are no substitute for a proper paint job. Films are quicker and cheaper to apply than paints. Intricate patterns, stripes and lettering are simply printed and then applied in one piece. Foils are also useful for surfaces that could never be achieved with paint. A good example is the chrome ship.

There are no limits to the imagination!

Meanwhile, even wood is available as a deceptively real foil, even with embossed grain. For example, aluminium masts can be turned into a carbon rig in no time at all, carbon Spi trees into glued larch wood jewels. Gel coat cockpits are covered with teak pole decking. In this realm, the possibilities are almost unlimited.

INTERIOR

INTERIOR

In the interior, too, many things can be done with foil, no matter whether it’s furniture, walls, ceilings or floors.

SPEED BOAT

SPEED BOAT

The “Beast” was designed and built by us to provide mega yacht support. Exterior work is done from this rib.

Transfer and shuttle services for shipyards whose engineers need to be brought aboard mega-yachts on the North and Baltic Seas are regularly handled by our offshore boat.

With 40 knots and a range of 200 nm, it is possible to supply arriving yachts with measuring equipment and personnel far out in the North Sea. Even film teams and photographers book the Beast for their assignments.
